Degree Programs

UF Law offers five different degrees, including the nation’s first S.J.D. in taxation. The degrees range from the well-known J.D. to post-J.D. degrees, which offers students the ability to customize their law school experience.

Juris Doctor

The three-year Juris Doctor curriculum is designed to develop students’ analytical ability, practical knowledge, communications skills and an understanding of the codes of responsibility and ethics that are central to the practice of law.

LL.M. in Taxation

This one-year course of study leads to the degree of Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation.

LL.M. in International Taxation

The faculty of the College of Law have now established a degree within the Graduate Tax Program, the LL.M. in International Taxation, which builds on and shares the tradition of excellence that marks the Graduate Tax Program.

LL.M. in U.S. Law

The LL.M. in U.S. Law at UF Levin College of Law is designed for graduates of non-U.S. law schools. Students typically earn the degree within one year upon successful completion of 26 semester hours of coursework. Our broad curriculum allows students to generalize or focus on specific areas of law.

S.J.D. in Taxation

The University of Florida Levin College of Law – through its Graduate Tax Program – offers the nation’s first Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) in Taxation, designed for those interested in tax law teaching and scholarship.
