Conflict Resolution Initiative
At the Conflict Resolution Initiative, UF Law students provide mediation services to other UF students, faculty, and the Gainesville community at large. All law student mediators have been trained by a primary trainer certified by the Dispute Resolution Center of the Florida Supreme Court.
Our Goal at C.R.I. is to:
- Save you time and valuable energy in resolving disputes
- Provide a purely confidential avenue of redress for many of life’s problems, no matter how small
- Help parties feel better about reaching a satisfying resolution to their dispute.
- Give you the ability to avoid the high cost of formal litigation

The CRI is also working in conjunction with the Dean of Students Office Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution.
All mediation services provided by the Conflict Resolution Initiative are 100 percent free. By coming to us you will save money and receive the same mediation service offered by the Florida courts. Our mediations are a great way to solve any dispute and avoid the high cost of formal litigation.
Our student mediators are professionally trained to provide the following services:
- Conflict Resolution
- Restorative Justice
- Conflict Coaching
- Facilitated Dialogues
All of these techniques are used to prevent the escalation of a conflict and provide closure for the parties to a dispute.
