Graduation Employment Information
As of Feb. 15, 2013, the “placement success rate” for 2012 UF Law graduates was 90.2 PERCENT.
For UF Law, the placement success rate consists of 80.73 percentage points employed and 5.8 percentage points in graduate studies with 3.67 percentage points not seeking employment. Another 8.87 percentage points were unemployed, 1.8 percentage points whose status was unknown, and 0.92 percentage points whose starts were deferred. Here is a breakdown* of job types for those who were employed:
- 81.1 PERCENT full-time employment requiring bar passage or a J.D., or where a J.D. is directly relevant to the job requirements;
- 11.7 PERCENT part-time employment requiring bar passage or a J.D., or where a J.D. is directly relevant to the job requirements;
- 4.5 PERCENT in professional employment where a J.D. is indirectly related or unrelated to the job requirements;
- 2.65 PERCENT in non-professional employment.
From the Class of 2012, 5.8 percent of the graduates pursued graduate degrees, while the national average (for the most recent class know, 2011) was only 2.9 percent.
Part of the reason for the high percentage engaged in graduate work is the attraction of UF Law’s LL.M. in Taxation program, which is ranked No. 1 among public universities.
