Interviews & Recruitment

The CCS coordinates and facilitates the recruitment activities between students and employers through several different means.

To participate in any UF Law sponsored on or off campus recruiting event, you must agree to adhere to the terms of the Interviewing Policies and Procedures.

Job Postings
We update and maintain our on-line job bank of available positions through a program called Symplicity. Here, you can access job openings and search for career opportunities anytime and from anywhere. By November 1 all entering students will have received an email with their Symplicity login and password. After logging in, create your own profile and then click on the job tab to learn more about available positions.

Resume Collection
Often times employers request the CCS to not only post their opening, but also collect resumes from interested applicants before forwarding the complete packet to the employer. Typically upon receipt of the application packet, the employer will then contact candidates of interest and invite them to interview at their office. Resume collections can also be found in Symplicity.

On-Campus Interviews
Each year the CCS conducts an extensive fall and spring On-Campus Interview (OCI) program for over 200 legal employers who visit UF Law to interview students for summer and permanent employment. The entire OCI process from uploading your resume, bidding or selecting employers of interest, to the interview scheduling is all accomplished through Symplicity, our on-line program.

Video Interviewing
UF Law has video interviewing equipment that enables employers to conduct an interview with you while you are here at the law school. Be sure to advise potential employers who are located out-of-state that we offer this service at no charge.

Off-Campus Recruiting
Job fairs, interviewing programs and recruiting conferences are all events where legal employers are invited to one location such as Atlanta or Washington, D.C.. There they interview participating law schools’ students during scheduled interview times. Students who participate in a job fair increase their exposure to out-of-state employers and those employers who may not be able to interview on-campus. These recruiting events make it easy for a student to talk to a number of employers in a short period of time.

Please be aware that the student registration deadlines for these off-campus recruiting events can be from two to three months in advance of the program date. For early fall interview programs, the CCS must have summer contact information for you as there will be information submissions and deadlines occurring over the summer. Fall entering students are ineligible to participate in any recruiting event that has a deadline before November 1st. While a number of these recruiting events state a preference for a specified group, all UF Law students may participate. Additional information about these opportunities is available in the CCS Office.

Please note: Although Career Services reports announcements of opportunities and events that may state a preference for a specified religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ethnicity, disability or other category, it is UF Law CCS's policy that any interested UF Law student is eligible to submit credentials for consideration and may participate in the events.
