The pragmatic focus of the 2004 Diversity Challenge is the presentation of developments in racial and cultural research, theory, and community and social justice initiatives with the goal of identifying strategies and overcoming challenges of making race and culture matter in community-focused interventions.

National Asian Pacific American Legal Consortium NAPALC works to advance the legal and civil rights of Asian Pacific Americans through litigation, public education and public policy. The Racial Fairness Project The Ohio Commission on Racial Fairness was commissioned by the Supreme Court of Ohio and the Ohio State Bar Association to "identify racial bias where it exists and propose methods for eliminating it from the legal profession and the justice system." The Project conducts public education events to raise public and professional awareness of issues surrounding race and ethnicity in the justice system, and to encourage community members to become involved in a variety of ways in justice system reform.
Southern Poverty Law Center The Southern Poverty Law Center was founded in 1971 as a small civil rights law firm. Today, the Center is internationally known for its tolerance education programs, its legal victories against white supremacists and its tracking of hate groups.
