The University of Florida Levin College of Law’s annual international meeting of Latin American experts will be held outside the United States this year, for the first time. We have accepted the invitation of our long-time collaborator, the University of Costa Rica Faculty of Law, to travel to San Jose, Costa Rica, for the 2004 conference.
The conference agenda will include three general sessions and six workshops featuring specific legal and policy issues facing us today. The workshop sessions will include speakers from the United States, Costa Rica and the Americas.
Workshop topics for the 2004 conference are:
- Legal Education and Professionalism
- The Human Right to Property and Sustainable Development
- Decentralization, Property Taxation & Valuation
- Conflict Resolution
- Economic Integration in the Hemisphere
- Proportional Response Under Rule of Law to Organized Crime & Terrorism
We have reserved space for 150 participants in the conference, so early registration is important. The deadline for returning the attached registration form to us is April 24, 2004.
