The Center for Governmental Responsibility’s Eleventh Annual Conference on Legal & Policy Issues in the Americas was held May 17 and 18, 2010, in Montevideo, Uruguay. The 2010 conference will feature day-long workshops and discussions on selected topics, including:
- Reform of Criminal Procedure in Uruguay
- Trade, Business, and Dispute Settlement
- Agro-Ranching and the Environment
- Financial Crime & Street Crime
- Comparative Perspectives on the Environmental/Human Rights Link in the Americas
- Emerging Legal Issues in Uruguay and the Americas
The conference examined current legal issues in the hemisphere, while continuing to strengthen our partnerships throughout the region.
Collaborators for the conference are the Center for Governmental Responsibility at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, the United States Embassy in Montevideo, Uruguay, Ministerio de Educacion y Cultura, Universidad de la Republica, Universidad Catolica, Universidad de Montevideo, and Universidad de la Empresa.
