Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic
The Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic (IPVAC) helps provide indigent victims of domestic, dating, and/or sexual violence with the help they need concerning legal, safety, family and health issues.

The first of its kind in the nation, IPVAC is a collaboration between the University of Florida College of Law, College of Medicine, Shands Teaching Hospital and the local non-profit Peaceful Paths Domestic Abuse Network that provides low-income intimate partner violence victims with comprehensive and coordinated legal, medical and social services focusing on victim and family safety. An IPVAC team consists of Certified Legal Interns (CLI's), a social worker, an outreach counselor and various medical staff at UF's outpatient clinics who run a community resource called THE SOURCE: Supporting Healthy Relationships through Medical, Legal, & Educational Advocacy. THE SOURCE holds office hours at Virgil Hawkins Civil Clinic, UF's Pediatrics clinic, and UF's Ob-Gyn clinic.
Certified Legal Interns, specifically trained in domestic violence, will join a holistic team that includes a Shands' social worker and a domestic violence outreach counselor to provide victim survivors access to many of the services they need such as legal counseling, safety planning, support, and service referrals.
