Conservation Clinic

Professor Thomas T. Ankersen

Professor Ankersen directs the Conservation Clinic at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. The Clinic, which is both interdisciplinary and international, represents clients in the governmental, non-governmental and private sectors. Mr. Ankersen teaches and conducts research across a broad spectrum of domestic and international environmental law topics, and has published numerous articles in both English and Spanish language journals. Mr. Ankersen helped to found the Mesoamerican Environmental Law Network, a formal association of non-governmental environmental law organizations in Central America and Mexico. Mr. Ankersen also co-directs the Levin College of Law's Summer Environmental Law Program in Costa Rica. Mr. Ankersen is a member of the Florida Bar, serves on the Tropical Ecosystem Directorate of the United States Man and the Biosphere Program and is a member of the IUCN Environmental Law Commission. Prior to his current position, Mr. Ankersen practiced in the environmental practice firm of Peeples, Earl & Blank in Miami, Fl. He hold a J.D. from the University of Florida where he was a member of the Law Review.
