INNA DI LAW: A Citizen’s Guide to Environmental Law in Jamaica
Akilah
Anderson, Attorney, Jamaica Environmental Trust
Jennifer Hatfield, JD. Candidate, University of Florida Levin College
of Law

The
UF/UCR Joint Program in Environmental Law has benefited from the
participation of Jamaican attorneys and law students for a number
of years. In the 2004 Program Akilah Anderson, an attorney with
the Jamaica Environmental Trust, and Jennifer Hatfield, a University
of Florida law student, teamed up to develop a citizen’s guide
to environmental law in Jamaica. The guide was developed to explain
in simple English the rights and remedies that Jamicans have to
enforce environmental law in the country. The manual will be published
the Jamaica Environmental Trust and distributed to community groups
throughout the island nation.
