Jamaica Environmental Law Program Proposal

Jennifer Liu (Tulane) and Janelle Snyder (San Diego State) worked with the Jamaica law school team (Kevin Arthurs, Belize; Kerry Ann Mason & Judith Grant, Jamaica) under the direction of Norman Manley Law School Professor Norman Davis to draft a proposal to establish an environmental law program in Jamaica linked to the Norman Manley Law School through clinical legal education and a student based environmental law society. Pending Constitutional reform in Jamaica would establish an enforceable constitutional right to a healthy environment, a right enjoyed by citizens of more than one hundred other nations in world, including Costa Rica.
