Santa Fe -San Felasco Wildlife Crossings
In the Spring of 2002 the Clinic worked with the Santa Fe Land Trust, a non-profit organization to investigate the feasibility of utilizing conservation easements to support the acquisition of an important wildlife corridor in Northern Alachua County. Using the expertise of interdisciplinary ecology graduate student Luther Quinn, the Clinic also investigated the biological feasibility of wildlife crossings within the corridor along US 441. The Clinic also presented its research concerning conservation easements and private forest management certification programs to the Alachua County Forever local land acquisition program at a meeting sponsored by the Forest Management Trust, a local non-profit organization advocating sustainable forest management in the Southeastern United States.
