Downtown Revitalization

State and local government development policies have begun to emphasize urban infill as an alternative development pattern to suburban sprawl and its environmental consequences. Healthy, vibrant downtowns are a key to attracting businesses and residents back into the urban core. A variety of policy tools are available under federal, state and local to encourage downtown revitalization. The Clinic has been assisting local governments in the design and implementation of downtown redevelopment policies through the Florida Community Redevelopment Act and similar laws.
