LL.M. Fellowships

Florida Climate Institute LL.M. Fellowship:

The UF LL.M. in Environmental and Land Use Law Program and Conservation Clinic invite applications for a one-year graduate fellowship for the 2012-2013 academic year focused on climate change, funded through the Florida Climate Institute. The Florida Climate Institute Fellowship combines the opportunity to obtain an LL.M. in Environmental and Land Use Law with the opportunity to work with faculty at UF on a project relating to important issues related to climate change. The fellowship award varies from $9,000 - $18,000 and includes the possibility of related travel and research support.

During 2012-2013 Florida Climate Institute LL.M. Fellows will work on topics which may include:
           (1) Climate Change and Conservation Easements: This Fellow will work closely with Professor Michael Allan Wolf, Richard E. Nelson Chair in Local Government Law, and General Editor, POWELL ON REAL PROPERTY (17-volume treatise).  The project will study the effect of climate change on the enforceability and drafting of conservation easements.
           (2) Climate Change and Water Allocation Law: This Fellow will work closely with Professor Christine A. Klein, Chesterfield Smith Professor of Law and Director, LL.M. in Environmental & Land Use Law Program, on a project related to state laws regulating the transfer of water rights in response to water shortages induced by climate change and other factors.

Final project outcomes may also include contributions to the academic policy literature and presentations in appropriate professional fora.

Conservation Law LL.M. Fellowships:

The UF LL.M. in Environmental and Land Use Law Program and Conservation Clinic invite applications for LL.M. ELUL Fellowships. Fellowships will be awarded to selected LL.M. students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to, and achievement in, environmental and land use law. Each LL.M. Fellow receives a grant of $5,000 and must commit to enroll in the Conservation Clinic for at least one semester.
