NOTE: The following two courses constitute a nine-credit, two-semester program and each is limited to 16 students. It is expected that all 16 taking Law 6930 (Preparation for Pro Se Clinic) will proceed to Law 6940.
- LAW 6930 - Clinic Prep
/ Pro Se (3 credits)
There are no perequisites for this prep course, though there are a number of courses which give applicants preference for enrollment (details at Student Affairs). However, this course (Law 6930) is a prerequisite for Law 6940 / Pro Se Clinic (see below). This is a simulation course focusing on the skills of interviewing and counseling, and on issues of Florida family law which recur most frequently in the Pro Se Clinic.
Prerequisites: None. - LAW 6940 - Pro Se Clinic
(6 pass/fail credits)
An unbundling clinic in which students provide discrete legal services, primarily in the form of legal advice, to people with family law issues.
Prerequisites: Clinic Prep / Pro Se(LAW 6930).
