- Law 6936 - Seminar:
Introduction in Legal Research to Mass Media Law (3 credits)
Equivalent of Advanced Law (though focus on Media Law). Includes look at secondary sources in the field, and primary sources in administrative and legislative research generally not otherwise covered in law curriculum. Course involves preparing research paper from scratch (including how to find ideas and build the proposal). Secondary research critique papers are required in September, followed by concentration on the semester's major research paper. No tests. Usually meets equally at law and journalism schools. - LAW 6930 - FIRST AMENDMENT
LAW (2 or 3 credits)
Analyzes and criticizes philosophical and legal bases of important contemporary restrictions on freedom of expression. Connections with larger issues of tolerance and related principles of First Amendment law also pursued.
Prerequisite: Constitutional Law (Law 5501).
