Chesterfield Smith Professor Michael W. Gordon’s 6th edition of his West Group co-authored casebook, International Business Transactions, was published in August. He and his co-panelists are finishing a second written decision for a NAFTA dispute involving fertilizer imports from the U.S. to Mexico. The panel — consisting of two Mexicans and three Americans — sat in Mexico City in place of a Mexican federal court and applied Mexican law. Gordon’s NAFTA assistant, Jorge Ramirez, a UF LL.M. in Comparative Law Program graduate and LL.M. Graduate Tax Program student from Mexico, accompanied him to the hearing.
