Exchange Program Sends UF Law Faculty to Brazil
Associate Dean for International Programs/Professor Stuart Cohn and Professor Pedro A. Malavet taught this summer in Brazil through a faculty exchange agreement with The Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, while PCU Professor Daniela T. Vargas came to Gainesville to teach UF law international enrichment programs. In Brazil, courses were open to both undergraduate and graduate law students since there — as in the rest of the Americas other than the U.S. and parts of Canada — law is an undergraduate degree. Malavet (top, with his class in Brazil pictured below with Professor Vargas, second from right, and a U.S. student who graduated from PCU and chose to stay in Brazil) taught an introduction to U.S. law seminar, while Cohn focused on U.S. business transactions.
