More UF Law faculty members than from any other unit on campus consistently educate the public on legal aspects of current issues by lending their vast and diverse expertise to the media on a wide variety of topics. UF Law professors contributed to more than 60 unique news articles during fall semester of 2010 alone, resulting in stories in close to 200 media outlets ranging from local papers like The Gainesville Sun to national outlets such as The Associated Press, Newsweek and The New York Times. A special thanks goes out to professors Diane Mazur, Joseph Little, Lyrissa Lidsky, Michael Allan Wolf, Michael Seigel, Alyson Flournoy, Jon Mills, and Dean Robert Jerry, whose commentary appeared in multiple articles throughout the semester. Mazur’s opinions on the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy earned particular prominence. In addition to publishing an op-ed piece in The New York Times, her quotes appeared in at least 100 publications.
