The UF Trial Team competed in five national competitions recently thanks to members progressing to finals in all 2001-02 competitions entered. Of 400 teams competing, only UF had units in two Final Fours — the American Bar Association and American Trial Lawyers competitions.

Recent competitions were in Austin, Texas, and Chicago, Illinois, at the “Tournament of Champions” and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) Competition. The “Tournament of Champions” is generally considered the most prestigious of the year. Only 12 of the nation’s ABA-accredited law schools — including Harvard, Temple, Loyola and University of Texas — receive invitations (based on team performance over three years).

“Once again we have proven we are national champions – a force to be reckoned with,” said Team President Shawntoyia Grier.
