UF Law Faculty in the News
Andy Adkins
Director, Legal Technology Institute
- Law.com’s Legal Technology Blog, March 21. Quoted in the blog, which advises law firms to use proper management practices/software and said that it is important to "do your homework before making a purchasing decision." Adkins lists the items to consider before acquiring an all-in-one system for a law firm.
Rachel Inman
Associate Dean, Students
- AM850, March 19. Interviewed for the University Police Department town hall meeting held at the law school, saying its purpose was to inform students, faculty and staff while allowing an opportunity to address concerns regarding safety on campus.
Christopher Slobogin
Stephen C. O’Connell Chair; Affiliate Professor of Psychiatry; Adjunct Professor, University of South Florida Mental Health Institute; Associate Director, Center for Children and Families
- St. Petersburg Times, March 12. Quoted in article discussing a Tampa judge who allegedly allowed a New York City stripper to put thousands of dollars into his bank accounts so she could avoid repaying her credit card debt. The stripper is planning on suing the judge for money that she says he owes her. Slobogin said, judicial canons call for judges to be scrupulous about their finances and helping someone avoid creditors would constitute an ethical violation, if not make a judge an accomplice to a crime. "That would be a problem for a judge if this turns out to be true," Slobogin said. "They need to bend over backward to avoid situations that appear compromising."
