Associate in Law; Assistant Director, Center for Governmental Responsibility
  • St. Petersburg Times, Sept. 4, 2008
Quoted in an article on a land trust that brought a deed on a pond bottom and surrounding land. In Florida, people don't privately own water "unless they captured it," said University of Florida law professor Richard Hamann. The trust can't charge people for using the water, he said, though it could, in theory, limit people's access to it if it owns enough shoreline.

Jacksonville Daily Record, Sept. 1, 2008

Quoted in an article on Chief Justice of the United States, John Roberts, visit to UF Law. "To have the chief justice of our nation judge our Final Four Moot Court Competition is a great privilege for our students and the University of Florida," said Robert Jerry, dean of the UF College of Law and Levin, Mabie and Levin Professor of Law. "It is a tremendous understatement to say that it has elevated both the significance of this annual event and the anxiety levels of our student competitors."
