National Housing Law Project Seeking 2Ls and 3Ls for Academic Year and Summer Internships and Post-Graduate Fellowships

HousingThe National Housing Law Project (NHLP) is a policy advocacy and law center focused on advancing housing justice for low-income people. Its attorneys are considered national experts on the laws governing the federally-assisted housing programs administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Internal Revenue Service.

NHLP has a historical commitment to fostering the growth of new generations of public interest housing attorneys. Each year, NHLP welcomes current students from law schools throughout the country to its offices to work as interns and clerks. NHLP also has served as a host organization for numerous post-graduate fellows and has worked with fellow on projects such as impact analysis of the HOPE VI program and ensuring implementation of the re-authorized Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).

NHLP encourages interested law school graduates who have ideas for public interest projects within its broad substantive priorities to seek sponsorship for a post-graduate fellowship.

NHLP also offers clerking opportunities throughout the academic year and the summer for second and third year law students. Student interns receive unique opportunities to learn housing law through work with NHLP’s expert practitioners.

NHLP’s new Memorial Funds program is enabling NHLP to provide funding for a summer intern at its Oakland office in the summer of 2008. NHLP seeks to recruit this intern NOW. For more information, stop by CCS to review the packet of information NHLP has sent, or visit www.nhlp.org.
