Patent Bar and Intellectual Job Fair Information

PatentInterested in patent Law? Consider studying for the Patent Bar. Many consider taking the Patent Bar during the course of obtaining their juris doctor. If this is something you are thinking about, research the specifics about the test at the United States Patent and Trademark Office at http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/dcom/gcounsel/oed.htm. There are a variety of study programs you could choose from. Many recommend setting aside 150-200 hours to prepare for the exam over one month (full-time study) or two months (part-time study). Winter Break may be an opportunity to start a Patent Bar Study Course.

The University of Florida Levin College of Law participates in two intellectual property job fairs—the Southeastern Intellectual property Job Fair (SIPJF) in Atlanta and the Loyola Patent Law Interview Program in Chicago. These events take place in July and August, but registration deadlines will take place in February. Stay tuned for important upcoming patent law job fair information.
