INAUGURATION DAY
by Lincoln J. Schenider
UF Law Student/ 2L
Come, brother, to the table;
Bring with you your sister,
And all our friends.
You shall show us
The feast of friends
Can be shared
With the ages, and with all.
The time has come
For new men and new women
To hold the banquet-hall.
Our brothers and our sisters
Who came before us
Did they best by which they knew;
See how they lay exhausted
For their trouble.
Towers are raised and towers fall.
Walls are built between us,
But women and men and nature
Find their way through.
You have been ordained to
Lead us all to share;
May you be blessed in it,
And may we never forget,
Any of us all.
