UF Law students summoned to court

UF Law students interested in observing and interacting with members of the First District Court of Appeals are asked to convene in the new Martin H. Levin Advocacy Center this Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Oct. 27, the arguments will be heard from 9 a.m. until noon and again at 2 p.m. On Oct. 28 the arguments will be given from 9 a.m. until noon.

Henry Wihnyk, director of the Legal Research, Writing and Appellate Advocacy Department, said the sessions will give observers a better understanding of the inner workings of the court while allowing them to network with members of the court.

“The court is conducting arguments on campus to give students an opportunity to observe the court and attorneys in practice and to give the students an opportunity to meet with the judges and court officials,” said Wihnyk. “I encourage students from 1L to 3L to participate in this unique opportunity.”

For those unable to attend the sessions, visit http://at.ufl.edu/~video/main/liveStreams/wm.php?id=2951 to view a live stream of the court in session beginning Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.
