The examination period is fast approaching and the Office of Student Affairs is beginning to organize for this time. The final exam period for the fall 2009 term runs from Dec. 7 - Dec. 18.
The law school policy states that you may move an exam if you have two (2) or more exams scheduled on the same day (i.e. one exam scheduled at 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 8 and then another exam scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 8) or for another accommodation. The Office of Student Affairs is responsible for scheduling and proctoring your accommodation. Please do not contact your professors. You may not take an exam early. Student Affairs has the ultimate discretion as to which exam(s) are delayed.
There are three forms and in order to receive an accommodation you will be required to complete the appropriate form:
- 1) Two or more exams scheduled on the same day
- 2) Americans with Disabilities Accommodations
- 3) Foreign Language Accommodations
When you complete the form online the information will come to the Office of Student Affairs. If you submit a form you will receive a response from a member of the Student Affairs staff indicating a decision by Nov. 25. The form requests general information (i.e., name, UF i.d., e-mail address, and type of program) as well as information about your current exam schedule, the exam you would like delayed and the reason you need the delay.
You may find the forms at: http://www.law.ufl.edu/students/forms_apps/examexceptions.shtml
Please select the form that is appropriate for your situation. If you have questions please contact the Office of Student Affairs. The deadline for completing the form for accommodationsis Monday, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m.. Please make sure you have completed the form by the deadline.
Once the Office of Student Affairs has determined your accommodation, time, date and/or location, you will receive a message, via e-mail providing you with this information by Nov. 25.
For additional questions concerning exam accommodations, please contact the Assistant Dean of Students Kari Mattox at mattoxk@law.ufl.edu.
