100 Years of UF Law

In celebration of 100 years of legal education at the University of Florida, the Levin College of Law is pleased to present its Centennial Timeline, documenting the rich and incredible history of UF Law, from our humble beginnings in 1909 to its place as one of the nation's top public law schools. To navigate the Centennial Timeline, click on the photographs at the top of the timeline to experience an interactive trip through time, from the present to 1909.

In addition to providing the history of the law school, we invite alumni and friends to add their personal accounts to help create an interactive archive of the history of UF Law. On each history page, the visitor is encouraged to complete an electronic form that will be forwarded to our history team to be included on the Web site.

Our recent history includes an impressive Facilities Expansion. The law school is now housed in state-of-the-art facilities that include a greatly expanded library and two new education towers with modern, comfortable classrooms, including the Chesterfield Smith Ceremonial Classroom, which seats up to 160 for conferences, receptions and special sessions. Most classrooms offer technology such as wireless Internet access, outlets for laptop computers, and "smart podia" for presentations.

Another important part of our history includes dynamic faculty members of the past and present. While this is an extensive compilation still in progress, please browse this impressive list of Faculty Members from 1909 to 2007.
