The Information Systems Department of the
Florida Department of Legal Affairs required assistance
in finding computer software and hardware to replace a proprietary
Unisys/CTOS platform. Andrew Z. Adkins, III was retained
to perform two tasks. The first was to evaluate the existing
system and make recommendations for computer software and
hardware to meet the needs of the legal department of over
400 attorneys and 830 staff in 11 offices throughout Florida.
We prepared a Request for Information (RFI),
delivered to select vendors, chaired a vendor’s conference,
evaluated received RFI responses and assisted the information
systems department manager develop a budget for replacement.
The second task was to prepare a Cost/Benefit
Analysis Report for the Attorney General to justify the
expense of the replacement system to the Florida legislature.
This project involved preparing a survey for the Attorney
General’s office and evaluating all received responses.
A detailed report was prepared indicating the results of
the survey and the anticipated costs for replacing the current
system.
