::Case Study - Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation

The Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation (MLAC) is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts and is the Commonwealth’s primary funder of Massachusetts non-profit Legal Service Organizations (LSOs) that provide legal assistance to low-income people in civil (non-criminal) cases. MLAC retained the Legal Technology Institute to assist with implementation of a uniform case and matter management system for use throughout the Commonwealth.

LTI worked with MLAC staff, IT, and all LSOs to review existing technologies, processes and procedures. LTI provided recommendations for a Practice Management System (matter management and document management), a budget and implementation plan to help improve efficiencies within the LSOs. LTI also worked with MLAC assisting with proposal evaluations, selection of both the matter management system as well as the statewide system integrator.
