Music Law Conference

Music Law Conference 2011:

"DON'T PANIC: Navigating the Changing Universe of the Music Industry"

The Music Law Conference at The University of Florida Levin College of Law is hosting its 9th annual conference on March 26, 2011. The conference brings together musicians, lawyers, students, academics, policy makers and entertainment professionals for a weekend to network, learn, and share ideas. It is our goal that everyone, from the disgruntled ex-band member to the seasoned entertainment attorney, who attends the conference will leave with a new perspective on the music industry.

This year's theme will focus on the marked shift in the fundamental tenets of the music industry. It isn't very clear where the industry is headed, but what is clear is that major changes are happening now and will continue to happen. The Conference this year is titled "DON'T PANIC: Navigating the Changing Universe of the Music Industry

Topics for this year will include: Contract Negotiations, Piracy, DIY or Not, and more

The Conference is scheduled for March 26, 2011 (Saturday) in the Chesterfield Smith Ceremonial Classroom at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. The conference and panel discussions will take place from 9 am to 6 pm. (See the Schedule for more details.)

The live music showcase will be on March 25 and March 26. Each night will feature four amazing bands performing at a local venue. For more details download the 2011 Live Music Showcase program [636 KB]
