UF Law top tax experts available as tax day approaches
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Tax season is in full swing and the University of Florida Levin College of Law has tax experts available to discuss an array of topics particularly relevant this time of year. As the No. 2-ranked tax program in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report – and No. 1 among public universities – UF Law tax faculty are at the top of their field. UF Law also houses a chapter of the national Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program where Tuesday through Thursday from 5-9 p.m., law students provide free tax-return assistance to low-income taxpayers and international students.
Friel is a professor of law and director of the UF Law Graduate Tax Program. His areas of expertise include federal income tax law and income taxation of estates and trusts.
Marian is an assistant professor of law. His expertise includes bitcoins and cryptocurrencies, international taxation, comparative taxation, and taxation of financial instruments.
Willis is a professor of law and the faculty adviser for VITA. His areas of expertise include income tax, tax law, tax exempt organizations, and accounting.
