UF Sports Law Symposium, "From the Locker Room to the Board Room," Kicks Off Friday, Feb. 8, at the Levin College of Law

GAINESVILLE, Fla.—A roster of athletes, coaches, agents and executives who work and play in the rapidly growing area of sports law will be on hand to kick off the inaugural University of Florida Sports Law Symposium, “From the Locker Room to the Board Room,” 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in UF’s Reitz Union Auditorium.

Hosted by the University of Florida Levin College of Law Entertainment and Sports Law Society, in conjunction with the Law College Council, the Sports and Entertainment Business Society, and the Undergraduate Sports Management Club, this event is free and open to the public. Panels and speakers will run throughout the day and guests may come at any point during the event.

The purpose of this event is to give students a 360-degree view of the world of sports from the time an athlete is recruited out of high school, to their college career, to their decision to go pro, and to their life after sports. There will be two keynote speakers, as well as four separate panels with coaches, players, agents, and sports executives. These panels will feature an open Q&A format so students will have ample opportunity to ask questions.

Panelists include:

The symposium begins at 9 a.m. with the introduction of the opening speaker, Marc Isenberg. The first panel, featuring players, begins at 9:45 a.m. The agents panel begins at 11 a.m. Lunch is at noon, followed by a presentation by Arnie Fielkow at 1 p.m. The third panel, including sports executives, starts at 1:30 p.m. The day’s final panel, with coaches, begins at 2:45 p.m., and the symposium is scheduled to conclude at 4 p.m.
