Congratulations to the UF Jessup International Law Moot Court Team!
During the last weekend in February, the Jessup team competed in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition U.S. South East Super Regional and placed 6th, reaching the quarterfinals for the first time in school history. The participants were 2L’s Matthew Kozyra, Jason Taylor, Steven Blickensderfer, Lindsey Franco, and Jennifer Shepard. The team also earned recognition for their work on a Top 5 brief. Individually, Steven Blickensderfer was named a Top 15 oralist for the South East Super Regional competition. Please congratulate your fellow classmates when you see them.
News: 2010 Competition Team Selected
Congratulations to the members of the 2010 University of Florida Jessup International Law Moot Court Team! All General Members of the 2009-2010 Jessup Moot Court Team competed for five slots on the Competition Team in the fall of 2009. The five members of the Competition Team are Steve Blickensderfer, Lindsey Franco, Matthew Kozyra, Jennifer Shepard, and Jason Taylor. The Competition Team will participate in the 2010 Jessup U.S. Southeast Super Regional Competition in late February. The International Rounds are one month later in Washington, D.C. The Compromis for the 2010 competition deals with a fictional case before the International Court of Justice, wherein the Republic of Aspatria and the Kingdom of Rydal contest several matters surrounding the Windscale Islands and the excavation of oil.

Congratulations to the 2009 University of Florida Jessup International Law Moot Court Team! The Team placed ninth overall out of twenty-two teams competing in the Southeast Super Regionals during the 50th anniversary of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Rachel Malkowski won best overall oralist and Michael Stewart placed ninteenth out of all individual oralists at these Super Regionals.

In addition, we thank Professors Tim McClendon, Henry Wihnyk, Mary Adkins, Michelle Jacobs and Joseph Little for their valuable time and support. Finally, we express our gratitude to all the coaches and others who have put forth their efforts to promote the success of UF’s Jessup program.
