Florida Bar Admission
The Florida Supreme Court through its administrative arm, Florida Board of Bar Examiners, handles matters relating to admission of attorneys to the practice of law in this state. Two key parts of this process are character / fitness screening and the bar examination itself.

Bar Exam Prep Course Analysis
There are a variety of Bar Exam Preparation Courses offered to law students interested in studying for the Florida Bar Exam. Student Affairs officials have prepared the following analysis of six of these type programs. Please contact Associate Dean Rachel Inman (inman@law.ufl.edu / 352.273.0620).
1. Micromash Bar Review
Offers its program on floppy
disk or CD. Company claims the software adapts to
the test-taker in order to pinpoint ever-changing
strengths and weaknesses.

2. Bar/Bri Bar Review
Those who sign-up for the Barbri course during their first year Alock-in@ a price around $2,200. The price is substantially greater if you wait until your third year or last semester to register, though Barbri does not list those prices on its Web site.
Barbri is the most aggressive in marketing to students, and include study aids for various law school courses in its package offer B which is a big reason they are the most popular bar review program. Barbri also offers a course (several weeks long) to new graduates leading up to the Bar test date.
3. Practicing Law Institute
Offers only a Multi-state
Bar Review program via CD-ROM or on the internet.
The course is designed for students to take on their
own with little to no assistance from PLI.

4. The Study Group
Offers some personalized
assistance to customers. Materials are concentrated
lectures primarily available on tape or CD. Also offered
are outlines for each subject, and early enrollment
discounts of up to $150.

5. Reed's Bar Review
Offers practice MBEs online with available feedback. Seminars, videos, audio courses, flashcards and private tutoring are available. Number of different products include a live 6-day multi-state seminar for $695, and a variety of audio and video materials. Customers can combine 6-day seminar and a 3-day State Essay Seminar for $495.
Reed's guarantees 100% pass rate if students choose either a one-on-one tutoring course or small class tutorials. Also offer individual Aexam prep tapes for various subjects at $50/tape.
6. Celebration Bar Review
Company advertisements state
over 90% of its students passed the Florida Bar. Primarily
two pricing options. Appears to provide high level
of personal attention.

Service Course includes all materials for the multistate
and state exam plus unlimited bar review support (i.e.,
writing critiques of essays and phone and email support).
There is also an available $400 discount if you register
by a certain date.
Option
2: $1395 - Materials
only for the multistate and state exam plus email bar
mentoring for substantive questions (no personal writing
critiques). There is also an vailable $400 discount.
7. PMBR Multistate Bar Specialist
CPMBR is the Multistate Bar Review specialist. PMBR provides instruction through a 6-day early bird course in either May or December, as well as a 3-day program in July or February (depending upon which bar exam will be taken). PMBR teaches students strategies and techniques to help them spot recurring question patterns, nuances and subtle distinctions frequently tested on the MBE. Prices usually range from $325 - $990.
8. MyBarPrep
MyBarPrep is an online bar
review course with practice questions, online flashcards,
outlines, and free career advice to members. Members
also receive questions and study materials emailed
to them every 48 hours.
