Implementing a Payments for Environmental Services Program for Costa Rican Wetlands

The objectives of this Conservation Clinic project were to develop a set of best policy practices for forced resettlement, particularly in cases involving large dams, and to identify areas of current or potential implementation of these practices in Costa Rica. The Clinic team’s final recommendations were based on a review of international laws applicable to involuntary displacement, development bank operational policies, and recommendations from non-governmental organizations and other international bodies.
