Student Giving

2017 inaugural Gators Give Back challenge

“Gators Give Back” is a brand new competition each year encouraging all current UF Law students to achieve 100% participation giving back to their college. Each student will be encouraged to make a gift to support the Merit Scholars Initiative, the General Student Activities Fund, or another established fund of their choosing. Each year, students can generate donations through events in the courtyard, make online gifts, or drop off a cash or check donation at several offices on campus. Every student counts in this challenge and money raised will go directly to support students!

Student giving is an important tradition at UF Law. In the past, graduating classes have raised money but now every student is encouraged take part in our “Gators Give Back” challenge. Student gifts will ensure that future students are able to make the most of their time at UF Law and will help each student experience become better than the last.

When is the UF Law Gators Give Back challenge?

April 3-April 20, 2017!

Where does my gift go?

Gifts will be directed to the General Student Activities Fund, or can be directed to the Merit Scholars Initiative, 3L Legacy Gift or any established fund. Gifts to other established funds should reference “Student Giving” in the comments section and include an appeal code, GLSWQA2, for tracking purposes.

How much should I give?

The goal of the Gators Give Back challenge is to achieve 100% student giving participation. Every gift will make a difference to the law school’s present and future students. We recommend donating $20.17 to commemorate this year’s campaign.

Why does it matter if I give?

Your contribution will help UF Law continue to grow its reputation, benefiting all who have attended and all who will attend UF Law. Alumni who came before you support the law school each year so that you can have the best student experience and legal education at UF Law. Now is your chance to do the same for those who will come after you and will benefit you while you are in school. Also, you can give for to show your school spirit!

Why participate in the Gator Give Back now?

The class who has the highest participation above 60% will receive a class social. If the overall participation reaches 85% giving to UF Law by April 20th, the Dean will double the general Student Activities Fund allocation from $20,000 to $40,000 for next academic year!
