CGR offers opportunities to Levin College of Law students who are interested in careers in leadership, public service, or government law through a combination of academics, as detailed on the Curriculum Roadmap for Public Service and Government Law, externships, fellowships, and applied research. We are interested in meeting with potential law students and collaborators to discuss your ideas.
Every project and program at CGR includes opportunities for students. CGR faculty supervise externship opportunities in Florida government, including the Florida Supreme Court. The annual Conference on Legal and Policy Issues in the Americas is held every spring and brings together leading practitioners and academics from throughout the Americas to discuss comparative policy issues. The conference has focused on Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, and Cuba. Working with faculty and students in the Environmental and Land Use Law Program, CGR puts on the annual Public Interest Environmental Conference (PIEC)—one of the largest student-run conferences in the nation. The PIEC provides a forum for an exchange of ideas among private, government, and public interest lawyers; students and academics; environmental professionals, advocates and activists, and the interested public.
