Professor Steven McNamara is visiting from the American University of Beirut, where he teaches law and ethics courses in the Olayan School of Business. At the Levin College of Law he is teaching Corporations, Unincorporated Business Enterprises and Securities Regulation. Upon graduation from Columbia University School of Law in 2003, he practiced corporate and tax law at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP and Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP in New York City. Professor McNamara’s academic interests center around the financial system and questions of technological change, business ethics and moral theory. His articles have been published in law reviews, including the Fordham Journal of Corporate & Financial Law; the Securities Law Review 2015; and the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science & Technology. He has also contributed posts to the Columbia Law School Blue Sky Blog. Before law school he earned a Ph.D. in philosophy from Boston College with a thesis on Kant’s use of Newtonian scientific method. He also loves to travel.
