Joan Flocks, director of social policy for the Center for Governmental Responsibility, received a $30,000 Seed Funding Grant from the School of Natural Resources and Environment to conduct an environmental health needs assessment in Lake Apopka communities. She will work with faculty from the School of Public Health and Health Professions and the Center for Environmental and Human Toxicology. She is also an investigator on a grant just funded to the College of Nursing that will use community-based participatory research to reduce health disparities among women receiving Temporary Aid to Needy Families (TANF).
