The UF Law Center for Career Development and Office of Development and Alumni Affairs are planning a series of events to help UF Law students connect with UF Law alumni and further their professional development. Students are encouraged to submit RSVPs by logging into Symplicity and selecting the “Events” tab.

Networking: Why it Matters and How to do it

This program offers networking advice from Jim Theriac (JD 74), an emeritus member of the UF Law Board of Trustees, and Lauren Wilcox, senior director of the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs.

Government, Public Service, and D.C. Opportunities: The Insider’s Perspective

Chesterfield Smith Ceremonial Classroom (HOL 180)

Join an all-star panel of lawyers with strong ties to the Washington, D.C., market to gain critical insights on how to stand out in a competitive market. This program will share advice that is beneficial to every student regardless of which market you plan to work in. Panelists will include Bill McCollum (JD 68), Dentons US LLP; Scott Ray (JD 88), U.S. Attorney’s Office; and Marti Cochran (JD 73), Arnold & Porter LLP.

Students can schedule either one-on-one or small group meeting with UF Law alumni from a variety of practice/geographic areas. Sign-up sheets will be available in the UF Law Center for Career Development. Rooms and times will vary; however, we anticipate the majority of sessions will be 20 minute installments between 2 and 3 p.m.
