Joe Fluet (JD 99) to Deliver Class of 2025 Commencement Address

Joe Fluet

University of Florida Levin College of Law is excited to welcome Joe Fluet (JD 99) as the Spring 2025 Commencement keynote speaker on Friday, May 16. Fluet graduated from UF Law in 1999 with high honors after returning from active military duty. He then went on to work for a large D.C. law firm before founding his own firm, Fluet & Huber (now Fluet).

As part of his practice, Fluet works with a variety of legal and business matters that include government inquiries and internal investigations, corporate structures and business transactions, export compliance and government contracts.

Before founding his firm, Fluet served as a D.C. attorney specializing in government contracts and international law, as a judicial law clerk to the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and as an attorney at Williams & Connolly, LLP. Fluet’s distinguished career in military and national security includes 21 years of service in both active and reserve forces. As a veteran of conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other overseas locations, he has expertise in security, combat aviation, special operations, and counter-narcotics. In 2010, Fluet founded MAG Aerospace, a leading provider of aerial reconnaissance and intelligence services. Today, he holds an active TS-SCI security clearance that allows him to be a leading expert in the defense, intelligence and aviation industries.

With a diverse professional background, Fluet has founded and led highly successful companies across a wide range of industries. He sits on a variety of corporate and non-profit boards and committees, including the Board of Directors for Clairvest, International Spy Museum, Top Aces, MAG Aerospace, and Momentum Solutions. He is also on the Veteran Advisory Board for the Concussion Legacy Foundation. Fluet received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year national award in 2017, as well as numerous other professional accolades over his distinguished career.
