  • Who Is Eligible: Open to any law student currently enrolled in an accredited school seeking a J.D.
  • Topic: Any topic, must submit two copies of a current legal writing sample and a letter of recommendation from a law school faculty member or legal professional

The American Inns of Court Warren E. Burger Prize Writing Competition

  • Prize: $5,000, the winning essay will be published in the South Carolina Law Review, and the prize will be presented to the recipient at the American Inns of Court annual Celebration of Excellence at the Supreme Court of the United States
  • Deadline: July 1, 2020
  • Who Is Eligible: Open to judges, lawyers, professors, students, scholars, and other authors
  • Topic: Any topic, must address issues of professionalism, ethics, civility, and excellence
