April 24, 2017 – A Discussion on Florida’s Constitutional Revision Commission

About the Commission: The modern-day Florida Constitution took effect in 1968, mandating that the Florida Constitutional Revision Commission convene in 1978 and every 20 years thereafter. The 2017-2018 Constitution Revision Commission was recently selected.
Keynote Speaker: Professor and Former Dean Jon Mills, a Florida Constitutional Law scholar, former speaker of Florida’s House of Representatives, and former chairman on the Constitutional Revision Commission the last time it was convened.
Details: Professor Mills will be giving a short presentation on the Florida Constitution amendment process and the revision committee. The ultimate goal is to foster a diverse conversation around proposals that could represent a consensus from the UF Law community. Time will be set aside at closing for open discussion.
