The University of Florida, Levin College of Law is constantly striving to perfect technology in all aspects of a law student’s academic life. We provide a set of “core” technologies for faculty, administrators, staff, and students.
The Technology Services department is committed to providing support for law school faculty, staff, and when possible, students. The main resource for students with issues or questions regarding their laptops is the UF Help Desk at (352) 392-4357. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Classrooms provide full featured multi-media technologies that include computer presentations, document cameras, DVD, and recording capabilities. The law school offers a large wireless network, allowing Internet access throughout the law school campus.
The Technology Services department works to provide leading edge technologies, services, and solutions in support of the mission of the University of Florida, Levin College of Law.
General computer assistance:
The UF Computing Help Desk provides GatorLink, computer hardware, software, networking and wireless networking support to students via walk-up, telephone and web-based support. Walk-up assistance is available at the UF Hub on main campus. Please see http://helpdesk.ufl.edu for location and times, answers to FAQs and a link for creating an electronic ticket for call-back assistance.
The University of Florida, Levin College of Law, uses ExamSoft’s SofTest product for taking examinations on computers.
Every applicant, student, faculty and staff member is expected to have a GatorLink ID. A GatorLink account provides a short firstname.lastname@example.org e-mail address. Official university communications are sent to students at this email address. You’ll need a GatorLink account to gain access to the wireless network, email, print services, online training and the download of university-licensed software.

Law school faculty and staff are now able to remotely access their files, email, and common applications via terminal services.
The UF VPN Service allows University Faculty, Staff, and Students to securely “tunnel” into campus over the Internet and access services and is ideal for use over campus wireless networks. To get started using the AnyConnect VPN client, simply browse to https://vpn.ufl.edu. Once you authenticate with your GatorLink account, the VPN client will be automatically installed onto your machine. You’ll need to use the VPN service to download UF Software (www.software.ufl.edu) and to gain access to UF Law library electronic resources.
